North Polk Music

The North Polk High School Concert Band is a well-balanced group of students who wish to explore the opportunities presented through instrumental music. This group of approximately 65 members begins rehearsals at the conclusion of marching band season in October and continues until the end of the school year. Members of the North Polk Concert Band rehearse every day during 1st hour and come in for individual and small group lessons and morning sectionals. They are dedicated to excellence in their performances of the concert selections, which consist of many upper level high school and college level repertoire. Woodwind, brass, and percussion students from this ensemble are continuously being challenged to improve and are strongly encouraged to participate in honor bands, solo and ensemble contest, and other extra-curricular musical opportunities. Performances for this group include concerts, large group festivals, and educational trips throughout the US (most recent - Virginia Beach, Chicago, San Antonio, Kansas City).
